Are you ready… … for $3 a litre gasoline? … for sky rocketing food prices? … to completely change the way live? Join the Vancouver Peak Oil Executive for a screening and a panel discussion of "End of Suburbia". This public forum made up of city planners, food experts and community organizers, will explore how ready Vancouver is for a low energy future, and what we can do to prepare for this turning point in history.

I’ve been getting complaints from several folks that when they play my shows on iTunes, it locks up the whole fuckin’ machine. So I checked it out and boom the whole fucking thing froze. Not iTunes, but the whole OS! I had to force reboot the damned thing. In disbelief I tried it again. Same shit.
Finally, I used my amateurish photoshop skillzzz to make some images for the show, and I thought some of y’all woul like them. Click on them for a larger version.
Sometimes it takes an artist to show how fucked we are. Chris Jordan takes millions of ONE object and creates stunning prints. But the catch is that the numbers he picks are not random but statistical figures based on human waste.
For instance, here’s the piece Plastic Cups, 2008.
It depicts one million plastic cups, the number used on airline flights in the US every six hours.

Most of the videos I play can be downloaded via an RSS feed called Molotov! I recommend Miro since it pretty much rocks.
You can download Miro for Mac (here) for PeeCee (here) and for Linux (here).
If you don’t see your preferred RSS reader just copy the URL below and paste it into your RSS application.

Money rules the world, well for now, but we are working hard to change this. Until then, we need it to get our work done. Yeah I know, ironic. If you like what we do and have an extra couple of bucks, send it our way. If you have more than a couple, why don’t you look at our Shop and get yourself a DVD or join our DVD Club. The profits go to help our operation keep going. If you have a lot of money, well, don’t be shy, send us a chunk. We have a bunch of pots on the stove and they all need your support. If you are paranoid, you can send us cash or international money orders over good old snail mail.

2. Avoid corporate media as much as possible.
This one is hard to do since the corporate media is all around us. And I admit I go to see a Hollywood flick every now and then. But if I don’t have to pay for it I don’t.
This includes websites. Again, this one is hard to do since so many of us rely on this for our daily communications. I have a MySpace and Youtube account I use to promote THIS website. My solution, though not perfect is to block all of their ads. This is easy to do. I did it this way (link) but Firefox has an ad-blocking plug-in (link).
3. One of your heroes sold out? Write them an email and give them a piece of your mind.
Another great motion graphics informational piece. I first thought it was a Knife Party production but it’s done by Hues For Alice in Germany think. They had a website but it’s been down. I’d love to see more by these folks.Direct Download MP4 49MB
