YouTube Sux

So I get this "COPYRIGHT NOTICE" from GooTube:

Dear YouTube Member:

UMG has claimed some or all visual content in your video It’s the End of the World as We know it #31. This claim was made as part of the YouTube Content Identification program.

Your video is still live because UMG (This is the Universal Music Group, but GooTube is not very fuckin specific) has authorized the use of this content on YouTube. As long as UMG has a claim on your video, they will receive public statistics about your video, such as number of views. Viewers may also see advertising on your video’s page.

Blah Blah Blah (some more bullshit in between)

Sincerely,
The YouTube Content Identification Team

So basically, I used a Chamillionaire video and even though I am in essence promoting their artist, they feel they must in turn use my content to promote their bullshit products. Does this seem like a fair deal to you? I think this further prooves Anne’s point. I am now considering pulling the clip for YouTube altogether. What do y’all think?

It’s not a fair deal - it’s bullshit. I would pull it in order NOT to be apart of their brainwashing, eh hem, I mean advertising campaign…..

Yo Stim, it’s DJ Josh, host of the (on hiatus) Dollar Grab Bag, proud broadcaster of End of the World…. this is a new handle I’ve been rockin’ lately…

I say pull the fuckin clip. If there’s no other way for you to actively fight this kind of bullshit (which is rapidly taking over YouTube altogether), then that’s what needs to be done. THEN, leave a link to the original unedited version here at SubMedia and be all like “a motherfucker’s gotta do what a motherfucker’s gotta do.”

I realize of course this is ancient history… what can I say, I have been somewhat incommunicado. It’s a big relief to see you still doin that beautiful thing you do, bro. Fight the good fight. Peace.
