When I moved to Vancouver over 4 years ago, I had no fuckin idea that this was the city with the highest media concentration in North America. Can-West is one of the handful of corporations that own the lion share of big media. The founder of Can-West was a now diseased Zioninst motherfucker known as Israel “Izzy” Asper. The dying media empire is now run by his son Leonard who is also a staunch supporter of Israel. Now you can imagine how suckie coverage of Palestinian issues is on Izzy’s media outlets.
Enter Gordon Murray and Carel Moiseiwitsch AKA the Palestine Media Collective. In June 2007 these two media trouble makers unleashed a parody of Izzy’s Vancouver Sun with the headline “Celebrating 40 years of civilising the West Bank”
Can-West did not get the joke and are suing these clever satirists. Yep humor is a powerful weapon and greedy media moguls would like to stop satirists from being so fuckin funny.
