Day 4 of the G20 and rebellions. The Indigenous Sovereignty March was the biggest one yet, with over a thousand peeps braving the nasty Toronto heat to show solidarity with Native folks. It was inspiring to see so many settlers coming out to support this action.
Day three of subMedia.TV’s G20 Rebellion coverage. Today we bring you updates on the Canadian Police State and we follow the Toxic Tour of Toronto.

A coalition of queer activists set the bar high by organizing an impressive display of creative resistance on the second day of the G20 rebellions. The groups cooked up a stew of gay struggles with migrant rights and poverty issues all wrapped up in a delicious anti-colonial, anti-capitalist tortilla. Yum!
Our first day in T-Dot and already shit’s hectic. If you plan on being here and have a bike, make sure it’s equipped with front and rear lights and a bell. Helmets are not mandatory in Toronto. For info on the days of actions visit the Toronto Community Mobilization Network. Stay tuned tomorrow seems for more updates from the streets of resistance.
On the final night of the rebellions against the G20, dance crazed trouble makers will be reclaiming the streets of downtown Toronto for Saturday Night Fever.
On Saturday , June 26, a roaming dance party will invade the streets of T DOT so come out and join the dance revolution
The past few weeks have been trying on a number of accounts. Watching good friends getting beaten up and arrested by cops, watching a war machine in propaganda mode after murdering activists bringing aid to Gaza, and (on the positive side) seeing for the first time in Vancouver a massed solidarity movement in support of Palestine.
Just imagine within all this the sheer incompetence of the many in the left to separate reality from propaganda, or the inability to notice how their arguments are tilted in favour of homogenizing movements. Trying indeed. Continue reading ‘Resisting Homogenization: At Home and On the Streets’
On the night of Sunday, May 30, showing a terrifying disregard for human life, Israeli naval forces surrounded and boarded ships sailing to bring humanitarian aid to the blockaded Gaza Strip. On the largest ship, the Mavi Marmara, Israeli commandos opened fire on civilian passengers, killing at least 9 passengers and wounding dozens more. Others are still missing. The final death toll is yet to be determined. Cultures of Resistance director Iara Lee was aboard the besieged ship and has since returned home safely.
Despite the Israeli government’s thorough efforts to confiscate all footage taken during the attack, Iara Lee was able to retain some of her recordings. Above is 15 minutes of footage from the moments leading up to and during the Israeli commandos’ assault on the Mavi Marmara.
Once again the global pimps get together to split the pie and throw us crumbs. The G8 will meet one last time in Hunstville, Ontario to morph into the G20 who will meet in Toronto on June 26th and 27th. These are closed door meetings where our “democratically” elected leaders make decisions not just for the countries they represent, but for the world.
The gatherings against these meetings are of the utmost importance, not only because we tell these leaders that we do no recognize their authority, but because we show show solidarity with people power movements the world over. If you need a little convincing, my peeps out east, Testament and Illogik AKA Test Their Logik with a little help from Anarkid, cranked out this dope track and video to light insurgent fires under yo ass.
subMedia.TV will be on the streets covering the rebellions in Toronto this June, but we need a bit of cash cover our travel and expenses. So if you appreciate radical coverage from the streets of resistance, consider dropping us a couple of bucks.
