Fuckin sweet! We have page that explains our syndication methods here. You can also buy one of our DVD’s. No screening fees, no broadcast fees, just the purchase is good enough. Make sure to tell us where and when the screening is happening and we’ll help you get the word out. Most of subMedia’s films are compiled in Molotov #1, Molotov #2, Ground Noise and Static and It’s the End of the World as We know it Season 1 Season 2 and Season 3 DVD’s.
But I am a broke ass, I can’t afford the $10 for Molotov.
All of our films are downloadable MP4′s at 640 by 480 at 29.97 fps (what!) which is NTSC compliant (double what!!) and can be played nicely at full screen using a laptop and a video projector, converted to DVD, conformed to PAL, dumped to tape, ripped to WAV or MP3 etc. etc. For ripping I use a free software called MPEG Streamclip which works for Mac and PeeCee. For Linux geeks, there some good info here. Most of the films can be found on our RSS feed. Please note that we also show other people’s work, so read the description or the credits. If it says subMedia or has our logo, go for it.

Don’t be bummed out if I don’t pick your film, it doesn’t mean it’s not good, it just means I didn’t it fit into what I am trying to do here. If it gets picked, the bestest, fastest way to rock this out is to upload to Blip.TV. and send me a link. This allows me to “stream” the video on my front page playlist and link the video to the RSS feed. I have not found any evil corporate connections with the folks at Blip and they have an option where you can store your clips on Archive.org which I highly recommend. Please do not attach advertisements to your clips. So here are the spec for the videos.
- Format: MP4
- Video Compressor: H.264
- Size: 640 x 480, Millions
- Frame Rate: 24 or 30 fps
- Audio: AAC, Stereo (L R), 48.000 kHz
- Data Rate: 1000 kbits/sec or above
If your video compression program has an option to make it iPod/PSP compatible, click that option

i’m not that familiar with the submedia thing or all the anti-civ stuff on the internet, tho i try to live it outside the virtual world. its hard to spend the time and effort type typeing away to find actual info and submedia helps for sure. so i want to help.
you and i met in asheville when showing your movie a few months ago and i was stoked, especially afterwards when we discussed americans (and most everyone else) lack of connection to the natural world and its effects on their mental, emotional and physical well being. and the fact that they just arent connected to their wastes so no wonder they fuck shit up all over and inbetween, and then drink the water they shat in. i’m the homeslice that gave you the gift of well being (hopefully) in the form of tincture, to give you an idea cause i’m sure you met all sorts of folks. howd that work bu the way? so this may not be the right place to thro this comment in but its what i found….
i want to help and i want help with my up coming zine project.
i’m writing mostly how-tos (food, skills, scavenging, hunting) and stories of wildness from the perspective of someone born into suburbia and trying to claw my way out. its difficult to write this because i want to have the information be separate from my anti-civ ideals, but they come hand in hand, but then i want a wide spectrum of folks who may be turned way because of their misconceptions of anarchism/primitivism. i’m doing this because many folks are doing amazing things with theory and fighting back and organizing around resistance in so many forms that really inspire me and i want to share these things that i’ve learned over the years and get people off their asses and craft and gather and reallyreally ditch out on society…. because the less reliance we have on it the more power we have as a resistance.
i would like some ideas or even written sections (old or new) looking at the broadened view that i dont have because of my loathe for computers and researching, i know they are a tool to be utilized but i dont have it in me to. i could send some of the written things if you like, my deadline is coming up so it might be for the next one.
i guess this is me, early in the morning, struggling to finish this project and wanting to reach out and throw a request out as well as throw out my hands and heart out to those who want to collaborate on this or that. i teach primitive skills and would love to teach to anyone that wants to learn. i’m in the southeast u.s. but travel all over throughout the year.

Just a quick question, why do you swear so often in your videos? It detracts from the potency of your message, man. I would like to show your videos to my disabled son too, but due to the language used I find it’s unsuitable. Could you recommend any other websites without the foul language but with the same quality of material.

Hey Ian, thanks for your comment. Why does George Carlin swear? Why does anyone? People in the real world swear, maybe not as often as I do, but fuck, if people are going to get bent our of shape for a few fuckin words while the world burns, we are truly fucked. I know plenty of parents who don’t let their kids swear, but gladly show them the show. But seriously I find it confusing that you would be more concerned about a few fuckin curse words and not concerned about showing your son all the violence I spotlight. What gives?

I’ll get to my point. Here’s a synopsis of a screenplay I have written:
DO WHAT YOU’RE TOLD is about the joys of anarchy. Openly didactic, the story propagandizes ways both practical and romantic to counterpunch artificial systems while shedding light on some of the means by which unnatural authorities domesticate man.
As a number of scenes in DO WHAT YOU’RE TOLD have characters spontaneously participating in nature, much of the film would be filmed outside without sets. For its interior scenes, most of these could easily be shot in places found in any North American city.
The story itself follows a job seeking Biology teacher as he goes upon a cutting critique of civilization. Through the people he meets and the acts he commits, his (and others) underrepresented perceptions of and approaches to unnatural authority make up the heart of the story.
